Work Hours:
To qualify for year end awards, the horse’s owner (or representative) must work two (2) hours at STPHC sponsored shows or acquire a class sponsorship fee of $100 no later than the first day of the Margarita Classic. The sign up sheet will be available at the entry desk at each STPHC sponsored show. Work Hours for Year End Qualifications will be accumulated at STPHC Sponsored Shows only.
Divisions:
Youth Division:
Youth class divisions are based on the exhibitor’s age as of January 1st of the calendar show year. To be eligible for Youth and Novice Youth Year-End awards, the Youth exhibitor must be a member of STPHC and APHA at the time the points are won. This means that the membership dues must be paid to the secretary or treasurer of the STPHC prior to showing at a STPHC sporsored or approved show, otherwise the points earned will not count toward Year End Awards.
· Lead Line: Youth lead line is for exhibitors who are age three (3) thru eight (8) as of January 1st and must be lead by an adult age eighteen (18) or older.
· Walk Trot: Youth walk trot is for the exhibitors who are age five (5) thru nine (9) as of January 1st. A Walk-Trot exhibitor may not show in any loping class on any horse.
· 13 & Under: The 13& Under class is for Youth exhibitors who are thirteen (13) years old or younger as of January 1st.
· 14-18 Youth: The 14-18 classes are for Youth exhibitors who are ages 14-18 as of January 1st.
Amateur Division:
To be eligible for Amateur and Novice Amateur Year-End awards, the Amateur must be a member of STPHC and APHA at the time the points are won. This means that the membership dues must be paid to the secretary or treasurer of the STPHC prior to showing at a STPHC sporsored or approved show, otherwise the points earned will not count toward Year End Awards. The exhibitor must also hold a current and valid Amateur card with APHA which must be presented at each show to the Show Secretary prior to class entry.
· Novice Amateur: Novice Amateur classes are for exhibitors who are new to the show arena and have not earned points or titles thru any association for performance in these events.
· Amateur Classic: Exhibitors who wish to compete in this category must be between the ages of 19 and 44 as of January 1st and hold a current Amateur card thru APHA.
· Amateur Masters: Exhibitors competing in the Masters Amateur classes must be over age 45 as of January 1st and hold a current Amateur card thru APHA.
Open Division:
To be eligible for all STPHC “Open” Year-End awards, the owner of the horse must be a current STPHC member in good standing at the time the points are earned. Open points will be recorded in the name of the registered owner listed on the horse's APHA registration papers at the time shown. If a non-member purchases a horse from a member, the non-member must purchase a membership in the STPHC for points to continue to be counted.
** For a class award to be given in split age groups, the class must remain split in at least 1/2 of the STPHC approved shows (10 of the 20); otherwise, an all ages award will be given. For example: If the Amateur Jr Mares and the Amateur Sr Mares are combined for 12 of the 20 shows, one award will be handed out to the grand and reserve winners of Ameteur Mares. This rule applies to all age groups including combining youth 13& under classes with youth 14-18 classes. **

· Ties: Ties will be broken by using the horse who has won the most first places, second places, etc (if applicable), and if the horses are still tied, then by the flip of a coin.
